IN RE: State vs. Josue Huertas-Alicia
Case Number 2021 CR 251
On October 18, 2022 Josue Huertas-Alicia was sentenced to fifteen (15) years to life for each of the 5 counts of Rape that Mr. Alicia was previously found guilty on in a jury trial on September 14, 2022. Huertas-Alicia will serve this time consecutively for seventy-five (75) years to life. He was branded a Tier III sexual offender and will have to register as a sexual offender for the rest of his natural life.
Mother of the victim brought it to the attention of Ashtabula Police Department, where an investigation then took place. The investigation led to the discovery that this minor child had been victimized by the defendant over the time span of three (3) to four (4) years.
Justice was served today in the Josue Huertas-Alicia sentencing. Mr. Huertas-Alicia will spend the rest of his natural life behind bars. (Prosecutor O’Toole is dedicated to protecting children in all neglected and abused cases). She thanks the Ashtabula County Multi-Disciplinary team for assisting us in this effort.
